Building a Better Community | 2021 Community Drive – Food, Clothing, & Essential Hygiene Items

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a warm night!

Join us in celebration of community (and Christmas) spirit as we channel our inner Santa to help lessen the burden of those less fortunate this Christmas season. Father Christmas embodies the spirit of giving, without the expectation of return and without any exclusions – he gives freely to all simply because it is the right thing to do.

This winter season we’ve decided to follow in Santa’s footsteps and continue our Christmas tradition of our Community Drive, this year focusing on essential Food, Clothing, and Hygiene items that will help feed and clothe our city’s less fortunate this Christmas. The holidays can be a joyous occasion for many, but not for all, so the responsibility falls to those of us that are lucky enough to lend a hand to do so in the name of the common good.

With that in mind, here are some guidelines regarding what the Drop-In Centre is requiring this year, as well as a link to the online donation platform if that is more feasible for you.

Food Items

  • Non-Perishable Food items, wet and dry, with a long shelf life

Clothing Items

  • New or gently used clothing for all seasons, shapes, and sizes including but not limited to: jackets, boots, shirts, pants, socks, mittens and toques.
  • Essential Items – Shampoo/Conditioner, Body Wash/Lotion, Toothbrushes/Toothpaste, Hair Brushes/Combs, deodorant etc.

These items can be dropped off at our head office, 2420 39th Ave NE anytime between now and December 21th. Please note that Covid-19 protocols are in effect and a mask will need to be worn at all times while in the Westcor office.

If you would prefer to make a direct donation (there are multiple avenues this can be accomplished), that can be completed here.

Thank you for your continued support in Building a Better Community for our city and those in need. If you have any questions regarding this initiative, please contact (CC for more details.
