Greenfield, 118,942ft2 Design-Build warehouse addition at the Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief Centre. The project consisted of value engineering and extensive design assist collaboration with the consultant and client teams.
Standing 40 feet high with a 23,000 Sq. Ft. mezzanine, the steel frame, precast concrete structure will allow Samaritan’s Purse’s current facility to be used exclusively for their Operation Christmas Child program which provides children in over 130 countries a shoebox filled with toys, personal hygiene items, and clothing.
Throughout the process Samaritan’s Purse was very much involved with the project team, preferring to be included in all aspects of design, planning, and construction.
Steel tariffs caused the build to begin two months later than planned, but the schedule was accelerated thanks to the team’s use of the Last Planner System, effectively finishing in time for Samaritan’s Purse to be fully operational for the Operation Christmas Child season.
