On Monday, January 28th, a team of 25 Westcor team members and business partner volunteers spent the afternoon at Calgary’s Bow View Manor preparing for and partaking in a karaoke dance party for nearly 100 Bow View residents, staff, and family members. The event was implemented in support of the Brenda Strafford Foundation as part of Building a Better Community: A Westcor people-first initiative.
We sang along together to classics from the 50’s, 60’s and upwards including tunes from Patsy Cline, Paul Anka, Jerry Lee Louis, Elvis, Hank Williams and more. We drank ginger ale and snacked on popcorn twists, and even had some fun dressing up and taking some pictures in our home-made photo booth.
Safe to say we had an absolute blast spending time together with the Bow View residents and feel very fortunate for our partners at Bow View Manor as well as the Brenda Stafford Foundation. A huge thank you to everyone involved and especially to those who allowed us the opportunity to come and have some fun with such important members of our community.
