A new 65,000ft², $18M, purpose-built medicinal cannabis production facility located in Claresholm, AB. It is comprised of two main buildings; a header-house and a greenhouse. Both buildings are freestanding on the same foundation and are connected by an expansion-joint system that allows the greenhouse to sway with the wind while maintaining its integrity. During periods of high-km wind gusts, the top of the greenhouse can move up to 6” side to side with no negative effects.

Our team worked closely with the Owner and the Design team to engage in collaborative Design Practices including Target Value Design, Big Room planning, and Cost Control exercises to ensure we moved forward with minimal changes once construction began. This focus on constructability and design, and the transparent nature of the project team resulted in a smooth design and construction process from beginning to end.
